Bell Inscription is presumably based off the inscription carved on the bell of Hōkō-ji whose unfortunate wording gave way to the Siege of Osaka and the fall of the Toyotomi clan.

On January 15th, 1602, a fire broke out at Hōkō-ji temple which destroyed everything. When the temple was rebuilt in 1610, Toyotomi Hideyori commissioned a bronze bell with the inscription 国家安康 ("Peace and tranquility for the nation"). However, shogun Tokugawa Ideyasu, took offense at the inscription, claiming that the inscription broke up a homonym of his name (家康) with the character for "peace" (安), implying that for peace to be achieved, Ieyasu must be dismembered.

Of course, this was all an excuse for the Tokugawa shogunate to wage war on the Toyotomi clan, and the resulting Seige of Osaka lasted 15 years, ending with the total destruction of the Toyotomi Clan.
